FAQs. General Information UK and Ireland

Are you still delivering during the Governments Covid-19 restrictions?
Yes we are. Following discussions between the forestry industry (Confor) and DEFRA, it has been confirmed that necessary workers directly involved in key wood product supply chains are classified as critical workers in relation to the Governments Covid-19 restrictions. Our delivery partners will deliver your pallet to your requested location if the surface and access allow. You are not required to sign for it or meet the delivery driver if you are self-isolating or don't wish to do so.

Why should I buy firewood logs from LogsOnline?
Apart from only selling quality firewood, we want to offer you the best experience and customer service. Please feel free to call and we can answer any questions you may have.
All our firewood logs are kiln-dried hardwoods and are certified ‘Ready to Burn’ by Woodsure, thanks to their low moisture content of less than 20%, in fact, most of our logs are 10%. Sourced from responsibly managed woodland, we only use local virgin timber that carries FSC certification. Whether you only need one net of logs or are looking to put in a bulk order as a wholesale retailer, our distribution center means you will also benefit from prompt delivery.

What is ‘Ready to Burn’?
Woodsure is the only firewood quality assurance scheme and their ‘Ready to Burn’ certification guarantees firewood has a moisture content below 20%. The ‘Ready to Burn’ logo indicates that the firewood is ready for use as wood fuel. Using wood with assured low moisture content means it will burn 80% more efficiently than wet wood and reduce the level of emissions.

Why shouldn’t I burn wet wood?
Aside from the irritation of not being able to get a blaze going, there are other downsides to burning wet wood. As wet wood burns it releases nasty emissions into the atmosphere, including soot, tar, and creosote. These can cause damage to your wood burning appliances as the sooty residue left behind can clog up the flue, resulting in additional maintenance and greater costs in the long run.
